What bonding can fix

  • Chipped or cracked front teeth
  • Small gaps between teeth
  • Uneven, short or worn edges
  • Discolored spots that whitening won’t lift
  • Exposed root surfaces that feel sensitive

Chipped a tooth? Call us the same day

A chipped front tooth is one of the most common calls we get from Wilmington patients. If there’s no pain or nerve exposure, bonding can often restore the tooth the same day or within a few days. If the break is larger, Dr. Hina may recommend a CEREC crown, which can often be milled and placed in a single visit. Call 302-984-3300.

Bonding vs. veneers

Bonding is quick, conservative and affordable, and ideal for one or two teeth. Porcelain veneers cost more but resist stains and last longer, which makes them the better choice for a complete smile makeover. We’ll show you both options honestly, with every fee in writing.

How long does bonding last?

Composite bonding typically lasts several years and can be polished or touched up at your regular cleanings. Avoid biting pens and fingernails, and limit coffee, tea and red wine for the first 48 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

Does dental bonding hurt?+

Usually not. Most bonding is done without numbing because little or no tooth structure is removed.

How long does bonding take?+

About 30 to 60 minutes per tooth, all in one visit.

Is bonding covered by insurance?+

When bonding repairs a chip, crack or decay, many plans help cover it. Purely cosmetic bonding usually isn't covered. We verify your benefits for free.

Can bonding close the gap between my front teeth?+

Small gaps can often be closed with bonding in one visit. Larger gaps may be better treated with Invisalign.
